16 Ideas For What To Get 7 Year Old Little Girl For Christmas

16 Ideas For What To Get 7 Year Old Little Girl For Christmas

Do you need to know what to get 7 year old little girl for Christmas?

It seems like the older our little girls get, the harder it is to buy for them! 7 year olds not only want toys that little girls like playing with, but they are also starting to want things that pre-teens want. It’s like 7 and 8 year olds are ‘pre-pre-teens’.

Believe me, I’m not a fan of this, mostly because it means my little girl is growing up. This is when kids start asking for clothes and accessories from their favorite singer, instead of things with their favorite Disney character on it, at least for my daughter.

So, what do you get a pre-pre-teen? Check out the ideas below, they came from my own 7 year old, not just what I think she wants.

Questions you may have before buying gifts for your 7 year old…

What do 7 year olds like to play?

7 year old girls like to play a lot of different things! From board games and card games, to dollhouse and baby dolls. They like singing and dancing, playing video games, and running around outside! They’re at that age where they can have fun doing almost anything. Take advantage of that and buy them things that will broaden their minds and imaginations and challenge them educationally!

What do 7 year olds do?

7 year olds like to do a lot, such as:

  • play
  • dance
  • sing
  • pretend play
  • dollhouse
  • play with dolls
  • play board games and cards
  • read
  • play video games
  • do arts and crafts
  •  draw
  • and so many more things!

They’re personalities are much more developed now than they have ever been, so specifics on the exact things your daughter will want, I can not say. Yet, below you will find some ideas that they will be sure to love!

What are games for 7 year olds?

I’m sure your 7 year old loves plenty of games:

  • video games
  • card games
  • board games (candyland, shoots and ladders, Sorry, and more)
  • outside games (hopscotch, jump rope, hula hoop)

Kids love playing so many different kinds of games. And, it probably wouldn’t be too difficult to find out what your little girl loves; just try asking her!

16 Ideas For What To Get 7 Year Old Little Girl For Christmas

Favorite Character/Actor/Actress/Singer’s stuff…

My 7 year old daughter is obsessed with Jojo Siwa. There isn’t a day that goes by that Jojo’s name doesn’t come up, her stuff is the first thing on my daughters mind when being asked what she wants for Christmas. Her bows, her clothing, bedding, and everything else!

Who does your 7 year old ‘obsess’ over? Maybe they’d like some of the gifts below with their favorite character, actor, or singer, on it!

Bedding for Christmas

Of all the bedding sets from Jojo Siwa, this is my daughters favorite and something she is asking for for Christmas.

Dolls

Many girls love to have dolls of their favorite singer or character, just as boys like their figurines and action heroes!

Stuffed Animal

Sometimes it’s not the doll of the celebrity they want, but their pet! I remember when I was in elementary school I wanted one of the pets from Harry Potter, because that was big back then, and I was Hermoine for Halloween one year. But, my daughter wants a stuffed animal of Jojo Siwa’s Bow Bow.

Accessories

Jojo Siwa’s most prominent accessory is her bows. They are super popular with young girls, my 7 year old currently has two; for what they are they seem to be a bit on the pricier side. We bought them from Walmart and they were about $8 each! However, there are many other Jojo Siwa accessories that my daughter has also asked for, such as lip gloss, sunglasses, and much more!

Water Bottle

My girls know how important water is and how much they should drink in a single day, which is why my 7 year old is asking for a Jojo Siwa water bottle for Christmas this year.

Clothes

At 7 years of age, my daughter is starting to ask for clothes for Christmas. If this isn’t a sign of her growing up, I don’t know what is!

Barbies

Along with 7 year old girls wanting grown up gift ideas like clothes and water bottles, they still want things for little girls, like Barbies. And, for some reason they love the sets that have babies in them! Or, maybe that’s just my daughters, and because they have a baby sister, and they enjoy acting out real life interactions with their Barbies and other dolls. See, playing with dolls has a therapeutic aspect to it, in which it helps our kids understand the world around them! (Can you tell I majored in child psychology for a few years!?)

18 inch Dolls and Stuff

It seems like toy companies make dolls of almost anything nowadays, or at least any person that little girls would love to have a doll of. This is a doll that my daughter got last year, but if she didn’t already have it, she would be asking for it again this year!

Baby Dolls and Accessories

As much as our 7 year olds want to prove to us that they are teens and old enough to do what they want; they still enjoy playing with baby dolls. Whether it’s to pretend to be a mommy like we are to show us they are more mature, or simply to play with! They’re still our little girls!

Favorite Character Stuffed Animals

Even 7 year olds love stuffed animals! I don’t think anyone truly outgrows stuffed animals. Sure, they may change the type they like, whether it be cute animals, from their favorite tv show, or something else. But, everyone loves stuffed animals. And, in case you don’t already know by this time- don’t go overboard buying stuffed animals because they’re cute. They tend to accumulate quickly!

Favorite Character Figurines

Like mentioned before, kids learn a lot by playing and acting things out. This can be done by playing with dolls, playing house, or playing with toys from their favorite shows! My 7 year old loves many shows, from My little pony to Daniel Tigers Neighborhood and more!

Bike

If your daughter doesn’t already have one, then a bike of her own would be a great Christmas present; just make sure you buy one big enough so that she’ll still fit on it 6 months later when it’ll be warm enough for her to ride on it all day long!

Tablet

As much as you may want to keep your kids away from screens, you’ve got to admit, by this age they’ve already had their fair share of them. So, why not get them their own tablet! They love watching shows and playing on apps. They can use it in the car for long drives, or for shorter amount of times at home so you can get some cleaning or work done (if you work at home), you know, so they don’t interrupt you every 2 minutes. And, not all apps are purely for entertainment. There are some great apps for helping kids learn, too. Such as ABC mouse!

2DS or other Gaming System

Whether your think video games are bad for kids or not, they tend to really enjoy them! Plus, playing video games helps your child with hand eye coordination (or knowing how to move the little buttons to make the character do what they want- generally without looking at their hands), spatial recognition, along with math! Both of my older girls (4 and 7) have a 2DS and love it. The one above comes with Super Mario Bros 2, so you may enjoy it, too!

Slime

I’m not really sure what the whole hype is with slime and why kids seem to like it so much. Maybe it’s the way it feels in between their fingers, or maybe it’s that other kids promote it in their shows or on youtube, but they really seem to love it and want it. My daughter brought some home from school last year and I was not a fan- it seemed to stick and not come off of anything it was put on. Luckily, she didn’t get it on the carpet, I have a feeling it would be harder to clean than play doh. But, she is still asking for more, and more specifically this slime set.

Stuffed Animal

Stuffed animals are on thing that just about any kid will love getting for Christmas (or Easter, their birthday, or any day anytime, really!). Just be careful and don’t go overboard with buying stuffed animals; I know from experience how easily they accumulate! (And yes, I do know this was above, as well, but this idea is for normal cute stuffed animals, not character ones!)

So, What do you buy for your 7 year old daughter?

Battling between little girl and pre-pre-teen, it can start to become difficult to use a generic gift guide for gifts that a 7 year old girl will actually want! This is why the gifts above are ones that you can form to fit your daughters favorite things. Whether they are into nail polish and clothes some days and baby dolls and barbies the next!

24+ Amazing Christmas Gifts For 4 Year Old Girls

Christmas is coming up soon and you may be wondering what to get Christmas gifts for 4 year old girls you should get your daughter this year. Luckily for you, 4 year olds speak a lot better than 3 year olds, so you’re much more likely to be able to ask your daughter what she wants for Christmas and get a good response back!

However, what she tells you may be unrealistic; whether too expensive or not possible (this year or ever), such as if she asks for a pony or a unicorn.

If that’s the case, or if you don’t get a sufficient answer, then check out the gift ideas below! Some are direct gift requests from my daughter, and some are toys or other things she already has and uses every single day!

Questions you may have about gift ideas for 4 year old daughters…

What are the best toys for 4 year olds?

The older a child gets, the more unique to them gifts they’ll want, as they’re developing their own personalities. So, that should be taken into account when figuring out the best toys for your daughter. Though, these differences may be minor, whereas they may like all the same gift ideas, yet you may need to change out the favorite cartoon character to fit your own childs preferences.

With that said, the best toys for 4 year olds will be ones that help develop their imaginations, their senses, and their mind. Think dolls, dollhouses, art supplies an more!

What do 4 year olds like to do?

Believe it or not, 4 year olds like to do many of the things they did a year ago, but they are also at the point where they start to want to do things a little more grown up, too.

For example, a year ago my two daughters (who are now almost 4 and almost 7), didn’t play much together, the younger one couldn’t talk even nearly as well as she can now, so it was harder for them to play pretend (or anything else) together easily. Now, they play together all the time! (Not always nicely, but they can at least understand each other better now.

So, short answer is that 4 year olds like to do what their older siblings do. If they don’t have older siblings, then they’ll still want to do things that older kids would like to do, compared to what toddlers likes to do. This includes (but is not limited to):

  • playing with dolls
  • dollhouse
  • other small character like toys (such as from their favorite show)
  • pretend play (they like to act like puppies and kittens)
  • games on electronic devices (tablets, game systems, etc.)
  •  play kitchen
  • arts and crafts
  • play doh or slime

They start to get more creative at this age as they are able to control what they do more and are starting to be able to hold utensils better. This is the age where some kids even start to write their own names, whether it’s with pen and on their legs and arms (hey, practice is practice, right?), or on paper as it should be!

What do 4 year olds like to play?

As mentioned before, I have an almost 4 year old and almost 7 year old, and it is so much fun to watch them play together! At least until they start fighting….

But, one thing I’ve noticed that my almost 4 year old loves to play is dollhouse, or with baby dolls. They also have a baby sister who is just over 3 months old, so my 4 year old will go around with dolls and care for them like they are real; she’ll pretend to nurse them and change their diapers. It’s quite adorable!

4 year olds also love pretend play and playing with character toys and controlling what the characters say or do. This helps grow their minds and imaginations, along with helping them to understand the world around them better.

For kids, playing is learning, so it’s important to make sure they have toys that will help their minds grow. Luckily, this is quite easy, as almost any toy gives themselves to this, you can find some of these and more ideas below!

Be sure to grab this gift tracker to keep track of who you’ve bought for and what you’ve bought so far this year for the holidays! The PDF is also editable on your phone, so no need to print unless you want to!

Favorite Character Toys

Kids love TV, and as much as you may try to not let them watch it, let’s be real here; they still watch TV and have a favorite show and favorite characters. My daughters favorite show is PJ Masks (which she has always pronounced as Minnie Mouse- another character she likes!).

Maybe your daughter likes PJ Masks, as well. Or, they love a different show, like Doc Mcstuffins, Carebears, My Little Pony, Strawberry Shortcake, Pinkalicious, Paw Patrol, Daniel Tigers Neighborhood, or something else.

Whatever show it is, they are sure to love playing with the characters from it and acting out scenes or making their own ‘show’!

Favorite Character Gifts

Along with playing with the characters from their favorite show, they also love having their favorite characters on everything!

From bedding to plates and cups and even their underwear! Kids love showing the world the characters that they love. Here’s a list of items that can usually be found to have characters on them:

blankets

pillows

sheets

wall decals

lamps

piggy banks

plates and cups

pj’s and robes

shirts

underwear and swimsuits

bags

costumes

stuffed animal and toys

books

and more!

Barbies

Being a psychology major in college and knowing what type of psychological harm playing with barbies could possibly instill in a child, I tried so hard to keep them out of the house…But, they’re on Netflix, too. So, my daughters ended up finding it and watching it and wanting the dolls that go with it. Luckily, barbie is coming to terms that not everyone is alike and has unrealistic bodies, blonde hair and blue eyes. They have made more ‘normal’ figured dolls, and dolls that look different than what we may remember from our own childhoods.

Yoga Mat

If you exercise, workout, or do yoga at home and have your own yoga mat, be prepared for your daughter to ask for one, as well! Our daughters love following our example, and providing them for a means to follow our healthier habits is one of the best things we can do.

Water Bottle

This is the exact water bottle my daughter has!

Just like with yoga mats, if you keep a water bottle with you at all times, be sure to encourage the same healthy habit in your child! Go get them a water bottle; it doesn’t have to be expensive or even have their favorite character on it. Simply something to keep water in so they can keep sipping it all day long.

Stuffed Animal

Stuffed animals are on thing that just about any kid will love getting for Christmas (or Easter, their birthday, or any day anytime, really!). Just be careful and don’t go overboard with buying stuffed animals; I know from experience how easily they accumulate!

Baby Dolls

Little girls tend to love playing with baby dolls, whether they have younger siblings or not! They see what a good mommy you are being and want to be just like you. So, why not buy them their own new baby and accessories for Christmas this year?!

Coloring Books and Art Supplies

This is such a fun age, at 4, because they are so creative and imaginative. They start to want to create things and are much better at holding drawing utensils and other things at this age. The weird drawings of people they were making a year ago are becoming more defined and easier to recognize as human! 4 year olds also love making crafts, with everything an anything. For some parents, myself included, supervising and cleaning up arts and crafts can be something we don’t tend to like to do daily. This only makes the time we allow them to paint and make a mess creating even more special to them! So, check out some of these art supply ideas and start filling up an ‘arts and crafts’ box for Christmas this year!

Tablet

As much as you may want to keep your kids away from screens, you’ve got to admit, by this age they love them and keep them entertained while you get things done. So, why not get them their own tablet! They love watching shows and playing on apps. They can use it in the car for long drives, or for shorter amount of times at home so you can get some cleaning or work done (if you work at home).

Play Doh and Slime

For some reason some 4 year olds love toys and other things to play with that make a huge mess! Such as play doh and slime. Sure, it’s great for their sense of touch and learning how to mold things. But, it’s not so great for carpets. So, be sure to keep this at the table or place a plastic mat down to avoid having to spend hours combing it out of the rug!

So, What do you buy for your 4 year old daughter?

With so many different personalities there are for four year olds, it can start to become difficult to use a generic gift guide for gifts that they’ll actually want! This is why the gifts above are ones that you can form to git your daughters favorite things. Whether they are into princesses for superheros!

Questions You May Have About Christmas Gifts For Babies Under 1 Year…

What do you get a baby for their first Christmas?

There are so many options for what you can get your baby for their first Christmas!

You could buy them things they need, such as:

  • clothes and shoes
  • diapers and wipes
  • cute bottles, sippy cups, or other things they need for eating
  • blankets
  • a large item they may need (high chair, swing, walker, etc.)
  • and more.

Or, you can get them toys and things that you think they may enjoy more, like:

  • a singing stuffed animal
  • blocks
  • noisy toys
  • peek a boo toys
  • an exersaucer
  • books
  • and more.

One thing I would recommend you get your child for their first Christmas is something that says ‘Baby’s First Christmas’ on it, preferably along with the year. Luckily, these aren’t too hard to find! For my girls, we have always made sure they had a ‘Baby’s First Christmas’ ornament with the year of their birth on it. Though, cute Christmas stuffed animals work, too.

Do you buy your baby Christmas presents?

To answer this question, it’s best to know your families traditions and your budget for Christmas.

If you have a tight budget, where you may not have much to spend on Christmas this year; then rest assure that your baby won’t be able to remember what they got for Christmas (if anything) while this young. Generally, kids don’t start to remember much before they start talking.

But, for when they get older and start asking you what they got for Christmas when they were younger, you may want to get them a small present, like mentioned above, that says ‘Baby’s First Christmas’ along with the year on it. That way you have proof they did get presents when they were babies.

If you have a large budget, then you may be instead, wondering if it’s appropriate to buy presents for your baby. In this case, I’d recommend quality over quantity.

From experience, I can tell you just how quick toys start to accumulate for kids, from the time they are born they accumulate so many things it’s not funny. In all seriousness, it really is not funny, especially when they get to the age where they should be cleaning their own room and refuse to because they are overwhelmed with the amount of toys they have,

So, short answer, yes. You should buy at least one present for your child.

How much do you spend on baby for Christmas?

The amount you spend on your baby will again boil down to your budget. Along with how many other people may be buying for them. As well as the number of children you have and will be buying for.
I can tell you, it is very easy to spend a ton of money on your kids for Christmas; to even go further in debt because of it, all because you want your child to have the best Christmas ever.
However, it’s not worth it to go into debt to give your child the ‘Best Christmas Ever’. Especially since when they get older they’ll start to expect every year to get better and better. You’re simply setting yourself up for either failure or super expensive Christmas’ in the future by doing so.
Short answer; as much as you believe fit.
For myself, I’ll try to limit to $100-$200 for my infant this year, which will include toys and needed items.

20 Baby Gift Ideas

Exersaucer

There are many different exersaucers to choose from for your infant! This toy isn’t necessary, but babies always seem to love them. They’re best for infants who can already sit up, but can’t yet walk. It helps them exercise and strengthen their legs, along with entertaining them for a little bit longer amounts of time; so maybe you can finally get something done in your day!  My girls had a piano exersaucer, where the seat in the middle came out so they could continue to use it while toddlers!

Play Mats

Babies can have tummy time from day one, and have a nice, clean mat specifically designed to stimulate you baby is great for tummy time! This one has everything to entertain your baby, but take a look at them all to see which one you’d like best for them.

Walker

My first two daughters had a baby walker just like the one above when they were babies and they absolutely loved it! (My youngest is quite old enough for one, yet.) And, it may be a coincidence, but my second daughter used it the most and she started walking at 9 months old! So, if your infant doesn’t have one, this may be a good time to consider getting them one!

Blankie

If your baby didn’t get a blankie at their baby shower, or when they were born, then you’ll want to get them one for their first Christmas. And, the softer the better. This blanket on Amazon comes in different colors and designs!

Bath Toys

Some babies love bathes, and some don’t. Either way, giving them toys to play with in the tub, once they can take full bathes and sit up, will make it even more fun! Just be sure to dry them out completely after bath time, otherwise they may start to collect mold.

Stuffed Animal

Stuffed animals can be so cute and your baby will love it from day one, or at least as soon as they’re able to hold onto it! Just be careful and don’t go overboard with buying stuffed animals; I know from experience how easily they accumulate!

Sorting Toys

This sorting toy is a great gift for a baby, especially if they’re closer to a year old than just newly born. Then again, it’s nice to have toys for your baby before needing them. That way, when they get mature enough for that type of toy, you won’t have to worry about spending money when it’s not in the budget.

Balls and Blocks

You’ll be doing your child a favor by giving them this simple toy set! The squishy blocks are fun to grab and stack, while the little animals are cute and fun to look at and stick in their mouths. And, the balls have all different textures that are fun and easy to grip and attempt to throw!

Stacking Rings

The bright colors and the challenge of putting the rings on, will bring your child back to these often! At least until they have it completely figured out. But, it’s safe to say that won’t be til after they’re a year old. And, with how affordable these are, anyone would be able to get them!

Play Phones and Tablets

As soon as babies learn to grab and push buttons, they’ll be reaching for your phone and remote! They’re just so much fun! Your baby is sure to see the reaction they get from you when they change what’s on the tv, or when they push a button on your phone. Our reaction isn’t of how cute they are, it’s usually one of frustration, at least once they start making a habit of it. So, why not stop them there and give them a toy phone and remote? They still make noises, they’re just not as upsetting to us as the real thing!

Babies just love to have what we have! I’m sure it won’t be long until my 3 month old will start grabbing at my older girls tablets. If you’re infant is starting to act the same way, then maybe it’s time to pick up one of these!

Books for Babies

There are so many wonderful books for babies that you can get, I can’t possibly list them all! But, to give you a few, these are some classics to consider:

Musical Books for Baby’s First Christmas

My oldest daughter has this book, and has loved it since she was an infant. I still remember her ‘reading’ it when she was just over a year old. Over and over and over again! It was her favorite book, and one that I didn’t mind either; no losing your voice for you infant loving this book to be read to them!

Musical Toys

Want to start your childs love of music, and making their own music, young? Then you and they will love these instruments for Christmas. And, most  babies love almost all toys that make sounds!

Sometimes all babies want are a simple toy, such as a rattle. It makes noise when they shake it, teaching them to shake it again to make noise. So, it teaches the basic principle of cause and effect. Plus, these rattles have soft end to prevent them from accidentally hurting themselves or others; babies don’t have the best grip or aim!

Bringing back a classic! Do you remember this from when you were a little kid? (If you’re a millennial like me, then you should!) I just love when toy companies bring back toys that we used to play with so that we can give them to our kids. Bring back those memories and help your child form their own with this xylophone!

This soft floor piano will entertain your child for years to come! Seriously, my second daughter got one for her birthday, and even my oldest (who is almost 7) still loves playing with it! So, be your childs hero this year for Christmas, along with many years to come! This would be a great Christmas present for your baby.

Toy Cars

Baby boys and girls will love these toy cars. My mom actually bought cars like this for my second daughter for her first Christmas. She absolutely loved them. Though, these cars may be even more entertaining than the ones my daughter received, as these ones have balls inside that rattle and make noise. Babies just love toys that make noise, plus, these are easier for babies to grip and play with than regular toy cars!

Peek-a-Boo or Pop-Up Toys

My dad actually bought my second daughter a pop up toy for her first Christmas, it was one on a pull train, and she loved it. They help babies learn how to figure out how things work and give them a reward, or surprise, each time they are successful! So, believe it or not, it could be considered an educational toy. Though, honestly, almost any toy can be thought of as educational for babies.

Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn for Babies

This talking puppy is one that infants will love and smile at from the day they learn to smile through their preschool years! Either the pink one, or any variation of the puppies fisher-price made. Just check out all of the reviews this toy received on Amazon! My girls have the ones with pink ears and blue ears!

So, what do you buy for a baby?

Well, the answer is above, or something like one or more of the items above!

A combination of what your baby needs and what they would enjoy playing with, or that would teach and stimulate them, would be the best bet for what to get them for Christmas in their first year of life!

It’s actually what allowed me to start blogging!

So, even if hosting may not be a ‘normal’ gift to give, and can be costly because it generally needs to be paid for at least a year upfront; it’s one of the best gifts a blogger can get, as it enables their blog to stay alive, for at least another year. If one person can’t afford this as a gift, consider having multiple people pitch in for it!

If it’s the first year of blogging, then pricing won’t be so bad, I’d recommend SiteGround, which you can get 1 year for under $100 (including domain name and some security)!

Schedulers

Us bloggers, we love our schedulers!
They save us time, give us back our sanity, and prevent us from being consumed by social media 24/7.
Plus, as mom bloggers, we wouldn’t get much traction for our blog traffic without them; we can’t be attached to our computers or phones all day long. We’re first and foremost moms, and if you don’t have a sitter or nanny to watch your kids, then you simply can’t know you’ll have time during the day to post things on Pinterest or Facebook, or anywhere else for that matter!
Here are some helpful schedulers you may want to ask for:
Tailwind – the best Pinterest scheduler out there! This is the only scheduler I personally use. (Use the link in this post for 1 month free!! And then I’d recommend asking for a year of Tailwind as a gift, which is the way I pay for it for myself; it saves you money in the long run and you don’t have to worry about 1 more monthly expense!)
Other social media schedulers I’ve heard good things about:

Like mentioned before, the only scheduler I use is Tailwind, I’ve only heard good things about the other schedulers on the list above, so I can’t personally vouch for them.

Other Blogging Tools

Let’s face it, without tools to help us do our jobs, well, our jobs wouldn’t be very easy or even really possible. So, let’s take a look at some of these other tools that we could ask for as gifts to help lesson our financial burden of growing a business!

Email Service Providers

Having someone else give us bloggers the gift of paying for our email service provider is like someone else investing in us, or believing in us. Which is much better than just having someone give us money to use on whatever we feel we want or need. If you’re a new blogger, the companies I’d recommend are:

There are other email service providers, as well, such as Drip and Aweber. But, I’ve used both Convertkit and Mailerlite and know that they have the features that bloggers need.

I currently use Mailerlite, which is free to use up to 1000 subscribers. They recently added a new feature to allow it’s users to set up an automation (sequence) for each form you create within the editing section of the forms. Which makes it much more convenient to nurture each subscriber based on what they specifically signed up for, instead of a generic welcome sequence.

So, if you use Mailerlite, this wouldn’t really be a gift until you have over 1000 subscribers.

Selling Products We Make

If you’re further along in your blogging journey and have started creating products for your audience, then you may need some of the tools below. Some can be paid annually to reduce the price, which would be a great gift!

Some of these products are:

    • Shopify – a platform to collect payment and send digital products through. This is the platform I use.
    • SendOwl – a platform to collect payment and send digital products through.
    • Teachable – a platform to create courses and collect payment. This is the platform I use. (There is a free version, but only allows you to have up to 10 students.)
    • Thinkific – a platform to create courses and collect payment.
    • MyEcoverMaker – a service where you can create professional looking mock-ups to help promote your product.
    • Canva – a program that allows you to design images, whether for your product itself or to help promote it. There is a free version and a paid version.
    • Stock Photos – sometimes free photos can not be used in paid products, or there may not be a free stock photo that matches the feeling you want your product to give your customers. This would be where paid stock photos come in to play!

Bundles of Blogging Resources

Throughout the year, you may see bundles of blogging resources selling for really cheap.

The most popular ones that I know of and have been going on for a few years are The Genius Bloggers Toolkit (which is going to be on sale super soon!) and The BC Stack. I’ve bought both in the past, and I will always buy The Genius Bloggers Toolkit! There are some super exciting resources in it this year! Being an affiliate, I may get early access, and may have already gone through a course or two – so worth the investment!

With these bundles only being available for a short time out of the year, you may not think of them as being good gifts for Christmas. However, they make amazing gifts, and at a great price, too!

Simply ask for an early Christmas present, I guarantee you will still be going through it when Christmas rolls around!

Send this link to whoever wouldn’t mind buying you a blogging gift here, when on sale: The Genius Bloggers Toolkit 2019

Ebooks

There are so many different types of Ebooks that us bloggers enjoy; from self improvement, blogging strategies, productivity, and so much more!

Here are some of my favorite ebooks, as a blogger:

    • Pin Signals – This book is mostly about how Pinterest works and how you can use keywords to your advantage and will change the way you think about Pinterest.
    • The 12 Week Year – If you’re struggling to accomplish your goal or stay productive, then ask for this book for Christmas, you’ll thank yourself later!

Courses

The same goes for courses. Here are the ones that have helped me grow my blog:

    • Pinteresting Strategies – This was the first Pinterest book I read and was the first resource that actually helped me grow my traffic. Since the first time I’ve read it, Carly (the blogger who created it), has turned the book into a course and has made it even more useful!
    • Caroline’s Holiday Bootcamp – This was the second resource that helped me grow my blog traffic! If you can get into it when she offers it live, it will do SOO much to help you out, as long as you do the work. This would be a great holiday gift, but you’ll want to take it about 3-5 months before the holidays the following year, as well!
    • Pinterest Launch Plan – This was the third resource that helped me grow my blog traffic, once again! Whether you’re a beginner, intermediate, or an advanced blogger; I’m sure they’ll be something in this course that you’ll find useful (she calls it an ebook, but it’s on a course website and she has videos that go along with it)!

Cute Office Supplies for Moms Who Work at Home (AKA Blogger Gifts for Her)

Sometimes, as a blogger, you may actually want physical items, such as items to help you stay organized or simply things that make you happy!

These would be the ‘normal’ type of gifts to ask for for Christmas. You know, like cute office supplies, mugs, water bottles, and more to keep in your home office (whether it’s an actual office, or simply a favorite seat on your couch!).

Planner

This is the planner I personally have and would recommend to any woman, not just bloggers! This would be a great gift to ask for, it’s pricey enough to be a nice gift, but not too much that others wouldn’t consider gifting it to you.

Desk Organizers

Do It Scared Mug

Sometimes it’s nice to have something to drink out of that shows you are a blogger. The #doitscared movement was started by Ruth, the creator of the Elite Blog Academy and is a very successful blogger, herself!

Water Bottle

And More!

Do It Scared Shirt

Sometimes it’s nice to have something to wear that shows you are a blogger. The #doitscared movement was started by Ruth, the creator of the Elite Blog Academy and is a very successful blogger, herself!

Ring Light

They say video is the future of blogging. (As an introvert I’m not a fan of this, but understand why it is this way.) So, I don’t personally have a ring light, but watching others use one, I know how useful they could be! Click the link above to choose the one you like best to ask for.

Speaker

(for music if you enjoy listening to music while you work)

Airpods

Comes in handy if you’re trying to listen to podcasts or a course, especially while caring for kids. It’s not as easy for them to yank out of your ears!

Practical Gifts for Bloggers are Practically Unlimited!

Just like with almost everyone else, there are almost and infinite amount of gift ideas for bloggers; from digital to physical products, maintaining or growing your blog to helping you be happy in your own work space.

What you ask for is up to you, but the gifts above would be true gifts for any blogger at any stage.

And, yes, I’ve barely scratched the surface above (I didn’t even get into asking for a camera as a present), but there is something above that I’m sure you would love to receive as a holiday gift!

Feel free to share this post and put in the comments what you would like for gifts as a blogger!

Gifts to Make Healthy Living in the Kitchen Easier

Have you ever heard that 70-80% of being healthy, or getting in shape, is done in the kitchen?

Well, it’s completely true!

You may not be able to get toned in the kitchen, but what you eat is quite a bit more important than exercising.

Because, again, there’s another saying that tells us that you can’t out-exercise a bad diet. Meaning if you want to be healthy; it all starts in the kitchen, and you can’t be healthy if you eat junk. Not even if you’re at the gym 24/7.

The gifts below are items that a health nut mom needs in her kitchen, either out of necessity to make healthy things she wants to eat, or to make life easier in the kitchen!

Food Processor & Vegetable Chopper

A food processor is one thing I went without for so many years. Now, I don’t know what I’d do without it! Did you know you can make your own bars with it?!? Like Larabars, Nakd bar, and more! I even use it to make the chickpea cookies my girls and I love, and vegan mac and ‘cheese’. There’s just so many things it can do to make cooking and baking, as a health nut of a mom, so much easier.

Get one HERE.

Swivel Peeler

If a mom into healthy living does not have a peeler yet, do her a favor and grab her one! They’re not expensive, and they make life a whole lot easier in the kitchen. I can’t believe I went so long without one!

Get one HERE.

Professional Chefs Knife 8 inch

I went so long using the pathetic knives that came in the cheap knife sets, because I hate spending money on myself. But, if you’re a health nut, or know a mom who is; please, get her a nice chefs knife. Have you ever tried to cut up a melon or pineapple with a flimsy knife? It’s almost impossible! Make life easy for the health nut in your life and get them a quality chefs knife!

Get one HERE.

Silicone Baking Cups

These may be more for the kids, but silicone baking cups are much easier to clean, and more earth friendly, than a regular muffin tin. Plus, they take up less space, can be used to make home made healthy reese’s, fudge, and a ton more! I love them, the heart set pictured above was the first set I got, I have regular round ones, too. Having 24 makes it possible to batch make and freeze your favorite baked good, or any other recipe that needs to be baked in the oven or frozen in the freezer in small portions!!

Get them HERE.

NUTRIBULLET

As a mom, it can be difficult to get in all the fruits and veggies we’d love to have in a day. Drinking it in the form of a smoothie or nutri-blast makes it ten times easier! Plus, this little machine can do much more, from grinding flax seeds and oats into flour, to even making baby food. It’s a health nut moms best friend!

Salad Spinner

Every mom who is trying to eat healthy, and is into healthy living, should have a salad spinner. With the amount of salads we should be eating, it’s not practical (or cheap) to always get the prewashed and chopped salads. Buy in bulk and wash and chop your own. It’s probably what she’s already doing, and a salad spinner will help keep her greens good longer!

Healthy Living Gifts to for Exercise

New Yoga Pants

Let’s face it, whether we work out or not, us moms love our yoga pants. They’re super comfy for when we’re home. Stretchy for when we need to squat down to our kids level, or pick up after our little ones. In fact, moms who do exercise should have many pairs of yoga pants; some for lounging around and housework, and some specifically for exercising. So, go grab her another pair, in which ever brand she prefers!

What YOU Really Want: Gifts for Stay at Home Moms

Wondering what in the world to ask for, for yourself, for Christmas? As a stay at home mom it's hard to know what we want. Check out this gift guide for some ideas you'll love! #giftsformom #giftguide #gifts #christmas #momlife #stresslessbehealthy

What YOU Really Want: Gifts for Stay at Home Moms

Being a stay at home mom, you don’t get to think much about what you want.

You’re too busy worry about the wants and needs of everyone else in your family; your kids, pets, husband, parents. Basically, anyone you’re related to or see often enough to care for.

Oh, you’re on the list somewhere, way at the bottom. That’s why it’s so difficult for you to come up with what you want whenever anyone asks you.

I get it.

It’s hard to think about your own wants or needs when you’re so preoccupied thinking about others.

That’s why I’ve created the list below with some things us stay at home moms could really appreciate in our non-self-centered lives. From items that we need, things that you could certainly use but may not have thought of, to things that you actually want and will enjoy!

Just in case you do need some ideas for you kids, as well:

Items we NEED: Gifts for Stay at Home Moms

You know that there are things you need that you just can’t think of when asked, like new socks because all of yours have holes in them. But, the ideas below are a little more unique than just socks!

(But, in all honesty, if all your socks have holes in them, just get them for yourself already. This is your sign if you needed one. I know I’m due for some new socks!)

Slippers

Ok, so you don’t have to ask for these unicorn slippers. But, slippers are very useful as a stay at home mom. We’re on our feet more often than others think we are; with hard wood floors, it can be rough on our feet and slippers are advised.

A Nice Coffee Mug

I love this coffee mug! If only it were true; my toddler is quite strong, my coffee can’t even begin to compete. I still love the coffee mug my mom got for me right after I had my first daughter. It said “Mommy’s Sippy Cup”. I haven’t been able to find it online anywhere, but it was one of the taller travel mugs; perfect for moms who like to enjoy their coffee.

I just have one suggestion, especially for any new stay at home moms out there, make sure the coffee mug you ask for is microwave safe. This is vital, as half the life of your mug, it’ll be sitting in the microwave waiting to be heated up…again. (The one above is microwave safe, I already checked!)

Things Use Could Use and Appreciate: Gifts for Stay at Home Moms

One step up from asking for what you need, is asking for things that you can appreciate more and could use for yourself! Not just new slippers because yours got worn out.

An ‘I will watch the kids for a few hours’ Gift Card

What a great idea! Just have whoever wants to get you a gift make you a ‘gift card’ that gives you a number of free hours that they will watch your kids. This gift doesn’t cost any money for the person giving it, simply time. And, I can’t think of a single woman I know, who’s a mom, who will deny the chance to get a break, or time to themselves for a few hours, or even a single hour!

Living Well Planner

Maybe it’s just me, but I need a planner; a nice one, too. Ever since I got my first one in middle school, I was addicted to staying organized with a planner. Finding the right planner can be difficult, if you haven’t already found one you’re in love with. The Living Well Planner is perfect. It has a place to plan each day (by the hour), a place to meal plan, and a place to set goals for yourself. It also has a section for you to budget, but I use my own budget sheets, which are a bit simpler and more customizable to use.

Things YOU Actually Want: Gifts for Stay at Home Moms

Then, there’s the things that you actually want, not ‘want’ because you ‘need’ them. Unless, you haven’t gone shopping since before you had your first child, or you’ve gone shopping, but it’s never for you. If that’s the case, then you really need the gifts below, don’t be afraid to ask for them!

Gift Cards

Ask for a gift card for a store where YOU can buy YOURSELF something, whether it be clothes or something else you enjoy. Just make sure you don’t ask for a generic gift card, like for Walmart, where you’ll be tempted to buy groceries or stuff for your kids with.

This is supposed to be a gift for you, not your fridge or your kids. Don’t worry, your kids will get enough presents over the Holidays, and if they’re anything like my girls, they really don’t need any more toys, anyways.

Yoga Pants

Alright, maybe this is just me again, but I like wearing yoga pants; they’re better than sweat pants because it’s completely acceptable to go pick your kids up from school in them. Plus, they’re comfy, and no one can tell that you didn’t just come from working out! The pair above even has a hidden pocket, perfect for holding keys while carrying a tantrum throwing 2 year old while picking up your older child. Oh, wait, maybe that’s just me…

Something for a favorite hobby

Whatever you favorite hobby is, I’m sure there’s something that you’d love to have for it, but maybe haven’t thought of yet. Whether you like to read and just want a few new books, like to cook and need something new or unique for the kitchen, or maybe you’re like me and blog and would prefer something for that, like this for taking photos.

Whatever you ask for this year, just make sure it’s actually for YOU and something YOU would enjoy.

As moms, we tend to ask for things that our children want or to make our children or family happy. Which isn’t bad, it’s just we deserve to get something just for us. Not for us to make our family food, unless of course baking or cooking is a passion of yours.

And, of course, this Holiday season and gift ideas above are not all about being selfish and only worrying about yourself; you’re a mom, you can’t even if you wanted to. But, you deserve to feel special, just like everyone else that you buy gifts for. Simply think like a kid and think of what you would want for Christmas; ask for it, and believe in the magic of Christmas this year!

Wondering what in the world to ask for, for yourself, for Christmas? As a stay at home mom it's hard to know what we want. Check out this gift guide for some ideas you'll love! #giftsformom #giftguide #gifts #christmas #momlife #stresslessbehealthy

The Best You Can Get: 7 Presents for 3 Year Old Daughter

Looking for the best presents for 3 year old daughter? Well, come check out these 3 year old approved Christmas gifts that your daughter will love!

The Best You Can Get: 7 Presents for 3 Year Old Daughter

Ever wonder what presents you can get for your 3 year old daughter that they will actually appreciate, and not forget about 5 seconds later?

Well, my younger daughter will be 3 right after Christmas this year and I’ll tell you what toys she has and loves, or points to and would love to have either at the store, or on my computer screen (with sticky fingers and all).

They’re not quite toddlers at this age, but they also are just getting big enough for some more of the kid toys that they actually want. It seems like kids always want the toys that are just above their age level. Which, I guess is a good thing, right?

If you’ve been buying presents at the stores with your little girl with you, hoping to goodness that she won’t remember what was put in the cart; now may be the time to either find a sitter for her, or simply shop online. Three year olds will remember and may ask for ‘their’ toys that you tried to sneak past them in the check out line.

All the links below will redirect you to Amazon, I am an affiliate for them, but love their selection, ease of purchasing items, and the fact that my 3 can’t grab a toy she wants and chuck it into the cart hoping we don’t put it back on the shelf before checkout (true story). Plus, it’s the most trusted place to buys kids toys, or anything else for that matter, online!

Barbie Bakery Chef Doll

So, not too long ago, this Barbie doll set ended up in our shopping cart at Walmart and neither my husband or I put it in, our 6 year old didn’t either. Our almost 3 year old daughter snuck it in the cart, maneuvering it behind other items, to ensure we didn’t see it until unpacking the cart to check out!

She knew exactly what she was doing, and my husband couldn’t tell her no, so she ended up getting the set. She has played with it everyday since she has gotten it and even tucks her Barbie in at night. The set is kind of neat, too! The cupcakes and bread ‘pop up’ while in the ‘oven’, and if you get the little sponge at the end of the frosting holder wet and then ‘frost’ the cupcakes, it looks like you’re actually frosting cupcakes.

(I’d highly recommend getting this item on Amazon rather than at the store; we went to Walmart, and the set is actually cheaper on Amazon. Especially with the free shipping with Amazon Prime. Get a free trial here for all your Christmas shopping!)

Baby Rapunzel Doll

Sometimes three year olds’ just want to enjoy their baby dolls and pretend they’re mommies. Both of my girls do this; they treat their dolls like they’re alive and helpless little babies that need their mommy to take care of them. This is the one my six year old likes, and this is the one my almost three year old wants! You can’t go wrong with baby dolls at this age, especially if they’re made in the image of their favorite Disney Princesses.

Stuffed Animals

What little girl doesn’t want a stuffed animal for Christmas?!

My husband and I have had to limit our girls to getting one stuffed animal per year to not have their room turn into a stuffed animal zoo!

This specific brand of stuffed animal, Aurora, is one of my favorites; other than T.Y. of course. (I was born in the 90’s, so I may be a bit biased.)

Blocks

Building blocks are the perfect gift for little girls. My almost 3 year old daughter is always so proud when she builds anything with these blocks and then comes to show me what she made!

These help with hand eye coordination, building skills, and logic. Plus, kids love to build things.

Grab these free Christmas Activity Printables for your 3 Year Old TOO!

Little Kitchen

I cannot recommend getting your little ones a little kitchen enough! Whether you have a little girl or a little boy, they could benefit, and have fun, with this toy.

This is one of both of my girls favorite toys, and it was a huge hit with all the kids in my moms home daycare when she was running one over 10 years ago. This classic toy, and learning resource, will never go out of style! Get one here, so you don’t have to lift it into your car or hide it from your little one.

A Doctor’s Set

My girls are obsessed with Doc Mcstuffins! My 6 year old would rather an older kids show, but my almost 3 year old absolutely loves this show.

She dresses up as Doc and gives me a weekly check up! (Every week.) Get a check up set for your child here.

Play-Doh

Little kids love play-doh, and it’s a great sensory activity for our kids!

My almost 3 year old loves squishing it in her hands and making fun shapes with it. Rolling it out and then asking me to make a custom butterfly shape out of it. Her favorite thing right now is butterflies! She will literally only wear a shirt if it has a butterfly on it.

There are literally 100’s of other gifts that could go on this list! Three year olds aren’t usually that hard to shop for, unless trying to find the perfect gift; in which case, you’ll find above.

At this stage, they are generally still in the happy go lucky phase and won’t take much to please. Just wait til next year, they’ll be a bit more picky!

Top Gift Ideas for 6 Year Old Girls

Curious what six year old girls are into this year?

YES

That’s what I thought.

Just so happens, I have a six year old girl and she was not shy, not even for a moment, to tell me EVERYTHING she wanted for Christmas. We went on Amazon and looked around…I don’t think that there were 5 seconds that went by without her saying she wanted something. It can be too easy sometimes to get our kids to tell us what they want for Christmas.

The tough part is sticking to our Christmas spending limit and getting the toys that they will cherish all year long, not just Christmas day.

There are tons of toys that they will point out to you, especially at six years old, but most may be chintzy, or toys that will be forgotten or easily broken. And, sure, you could buy them a ton of chintzy, breakable, and forgettable toys for them for Christmas and stay in budget. Or, you could get them less toys, that may be a bit more expensive, but completely worth it.

This year, for my six year old girl, I’m opting for toys that she will cherish and care for and that she actually wants.

To make sure this list doesn’t get too long, I put a limit of the 10 best presents that any six year old girl would love to get for Christmas! Starting with her favorite toys she got from her birthday last week.

These tiny American Girl Dolls, which are cheaper than regular American Girl Dolls, are wonderful for mature 6 year old girls. My daughter just turned six and received the one above as a birthday present, she LOVES it. She treats it like her own little girl, plays with her, bakes cookies in her easy bake oven with her, and even tries to read to her. It’s so cute. I’m sure your daughter would love one, too! Check out all the dolls here.

Popular Girl Toys: Easy Bake Ultimate Oven

If your daughter loves to bake with you, is capable of being patient, and willing to let you help when needed; then she’ll LOVE an easy bake oven for Christmas! It does suggest your child is 8 before using this, so adult supervision will be required. But a mature 6 year can absolutely use this as long as they can follow your direction, and of course, have patience. Get it here!

Imaginative Toys for Girls: Play Kitchen & Cafe

If you daughter has an imagination and loves serving you ‘coffee’, then she’ll love this little cafe. My six year old has been playing ‘cafe’ or ‘bakery’ on and off for the whole past year, with no end in site. She’s made signs to put on her door letting us know that her little cafe is open 24/7. She’s made a ‘menu’, where she drew out everything that she serves, including my blueberry muffins and healthy chocolate chip cookies that she loves so much. Honestly, I would’ve been surprised if she hadn’t found this online!

Disney Toys: Baby Belle Doll

Sometimes six year olds’ just want to enjoy their baby dolls and pretend they’re mommies.

Educational Toys: Books

Books are always a great present to give children for Christmas. Sure, it may not be the most exciting thing, but watching the excitement on my daughters face as she’s starting to be able to read to me; it’s priceless! So, whether you buy them books to wrap up under the tree, or stick them in their stocking when being ‘Santa’, I hope you can experience the excitement on your childs face as they are learning to read.

Princess Toys for Girls: Princess Tent

And, of course, they’re going to want a place to read their new books…in peace and quiet. What better place than their own little tent! My daughter actually got this as a present last year for Christmas, but still uses it as often as possible. She loves to play with her dolls in it and even shares with her little sister. If she didn’t already have it, she told me she would put it on her Christmas list this year! Help your little girl feel like a little princess, like my daughter does, with this tent.

Practical Toys for Girls: Table and Chair Set

With this being your childs first or second year of school, they may start asking you for a desk. Why not get them a table and chair set instead, so they can use it for more than just homework. And, yes, some kids get homework in Kindergarten; my daughters homework is called ‘home fun’, which I thought was adorable and helps with her wanting to do it every night! This table and chair set would be perfect for her. She can use it to set up in her ‘cafe’, take the middle section out of the table and push her small cafe toys in it, and then focus on her homework. Or, use the middle section, with the net under it, to help keep a few of her school supplies hidden from her sister. (Not sure how that would last, haha.)

Imaginative Toys for Girls: 8. Pastry Tower

Of course, for any six year old girl who wants to open her own cafe, or simply play tea party; this will be the perfect gift! It’s quite affordable, as well. This will probably be what get’s tucked away in the net under the table above when it’s ‘home fun’ time!

Popular Girl Toy:  Barbies and Dream House

I was always against the idea of my little girls getting Barbie dolls, because of the social standards (and body type) that they portray of girls and women that are impossible to live up to. Luckily, with the introduction of their show on Netflix, they’ve introduced new dolls with different body types, and personality types that aren’t ‘perfect’. My 6 year old did not leave this classic girl doll off her Christmas wish list this year.

 Musical Jewelry Box

Give them something they will treasure for the rest of their lives. It doesn’t matter if your 6 year old has tons of jewelry, or none, they’ll still appreciate this musical jewelry box to help keep their treasured possessions safe. Plus, by this age, they should be able to keep this in good condition for years to come!

Being 6 at Christmas time is a special year; they still believe in Santa and love their baby dolls with no shame (and should never feel shame for playing with dolls). However, I feel your struggle with trying to figure out what to get for little girls at this age. They’re still pretty little, but they are also growing up and wanting to act like a ‘big girl’. Which is why there are toys on this list that are suitable to younger girls, and ones that older girls would love as well. A happy medium, if you may.

Use this gift list, that my 6 year old helped me create, as a guide for buying for the six year old girl in your life!

Gift Ideas for 5 Year Old Girls

The Best Gift Ideas for 5 Year Old Girls

(what they REALLY want; what we ACTUALLY bought)

Christmas is coming soon, and just in case you haven’t shopped for the five year old girl in your life yet; I came up with a list of items they would love.

My own five year old even helped me, so you can rest assure that these items are things that actual 5 year old girls want!!

Now, I did break the list down into three categories; what my 5 year old specifically told me she wanted, what my husband and I actually bought her or will buy, and items that I would absolutely love to get for her but we simply don’t have the means to do so this year.

The items on these lists may be different than what you might think. We don’t have cable, so my girls aren’t influenced by commercials. And, my husband and I are tired of all of the chintzy toys in stores that you see. They may enjoy those toys for a day or a week or so, but after that they simply get forgotten about or broken.

What 5 year old Girls Wants:

1. Baby Doll  and Accessories

She’s a little girl, with a little sister; they both play with their baby dolls all the time. They pretend to be pregnant with their dolls and then try to care for them the best they can. Apparently, my daughter doesn’t think she has enough and wants more baby dolls. And, don’t forget the extra clothes, diapers, bottles, pretend food, and stroller. For the stroller, my daughter was very specific and said she wants a carriage, not a regular stroller.

2. Magic Wand and Potions

She’s a big fan of Sofia the First and Harry Potter (yes, even at 5). And, because of those two shows and possibly others, it’s not hard to find little potion sets and magic wands. However, like those shows, the items available either seem too childish or too grown up for a 5 year old. This one is better left for when she’s a few years older and gets more interested in science, and doing science experiments; that’s where the real magic is!

3. Movies

She didn’t specify which movie she wanted, only that she wanted movies. Lately, she’s been enjoying Disney movies and any show with fairies or princesses in it. When I was little I would always get a movie next to my stocking from ‘Santa’, I may just continue that tradition for my girls. (If you decide to join up for the Disney Movie Club they tend to have an awesome deal going on around this time of year where you can buy 5 movies for $1. No Joke!!! I did this 2 years ago for my older daughter when money was really tight. Click here to sign up and check out the deal yourself!)

4. A Dog

By a dog, I mean she actually asked for a real live pet dog. For us, at this point in our lives, having a dog isn’t realistic. We’re still renting our home and having a dog is a lot of responsibility; for her and me. I also don’t want to be potty training a 2 year old and house training a puppy at the same time. The last place I worked I heard stories from one of my friends about how she was potty training her child and house training a puppy at the same time. And, as hilarious as those stories may have been (to anyone not involved), I would not have wanted to be in her shoes (literally).

5. A Super Soft Blanket

A couple years ago my mom had bought me a super soft blanket for Christmas; the softest blanket we had ever felt. Now, my daughter wants one for her self. Unfortunately, I don’t know where my mom had bought it. But, I’m sure there’s other blankets almost as soft that I can get for her if she truly wants one for herself in the future. For now, I share.

What We Got Her (or will be getting her):

ONE baby doll and a few accessories

We can’t deny her completely of getting a new baby doll and a few items to go with it. Plus, she shares with her sister more often than not. The few accessories we bought her for her dolls are; a doll highchair (she doesn’t have on yet), a new outfit that fits a few different dolls she has, and a baby dish set.

6. Early Reader Books

Alright, so this pick was completely by me. But, at 5 years old, kids should start to enjoy reading books, whether they are just learning to read or are already reading. It’s never too early to get them started loving books! We were even able to find some of her favorite characters with the early reader books.

One Movie

We bought Moana (through the Disney Movie Club) for both of our girls as a joint gift! Ever since the movie came out on Netflix it’s been a hit at our home. Getting kids a movie for Christmas is a win-win. A win for the kids because they tend to really enjoy movies, and a win for the parents because they can take a break. Even if that break is cleaning everything up from Christmas morning, at least we’ll get to do it in peace.

7. One Stuffed Animal

I’m going to emphasize the ONE here. Both my 2 year old and 5 year old have plenty of stuffed animals, and they seriously do not need anymore. But, have you seen how cute some of them are. My girls light up at the sight, or even thought, of a new adorable stuffed animal. We do tell all other gift givers not to buy stuffed animals for our girls, though. We try to be as strict as we can about that. If we weren’t then we’d need to dedicate a whole room to the stuffed animals in a few short years.

8. A New Outfit

Nothing too fancy, just an outfit or two (socks, shoes, and underwear included). Cute enough that my future fashionista is in love with it, priced right, and something she can wear almost any day of the year. I don’t see the point in buying a new expensive Christmas dress that our girls can only wear one or two days a year (and it’ll only fit them one year). Buying regular clothes that our girls will love is a much better gift, and investment.

What I Would Love to Get Her:

9. A Princess Reading Nook

I saw this on Pinterest in the summer and have been in love with the idea ever since. I know both of my girls would absolutely love this!! Unfortunately, we’re still renting and we’re not allowed to hang things up in our home. That rule, along with many other things about where we live, encourages us to find the perfect house to buy in the new area we live in. Hopefully, we will be able to find a house that fits our needs as a family sometime within the next year or so. Then we will certainly buy this for our girls. But, for now, it makes no sense to buy it; it would just tease our girls about what they could use.

P.S. If you want to buy a princess tent, instead of something that needs to hang, check this one out. My mom bought it for my girls!

10. A Bike

For this year, a bike is a little out of our price range. It would be close to the only gift we bought our 5 year old if we did get her one. And, how much fun would that be; to get a gift and not even be able to use it for another 3 or 4 months. We’ll wait on this for now, and think about it as maybe an early birthday present next year.

11. Doll house

My girls have a little people doll house and they absolutely love it! However, my older daughter has really outgrown it and she is completely ready for a bigger kid doll house. One that she can play with and not feel like a toddler doing so. The price of these larger doll houses, though, seem to always be a problem, along with the space needed to store it when she’s not playing with it.

I hope I was able to help you get inside a five year old girls head, and let you in on the gifts that they truly want this holiday season. I can’t guarantee that the little girl in your life will want all the things my daughter wants, but I’m sure there’s at least a few wants they have in common.

Don’t worry if you get more or less for your little girl than what my husband and I buy for ours. We all have our reasons for what we get them, whether it be our financial situation or the fact that we’re trying minimalism out. Or, maybe you recently moved and have more space for your childs toys.

Maybe you’re not the parent of the 5 year old girl in your life and you simply want to buy them whatever they want. There’s no wrong way or reason to get a child a gift that will light them up inside!

Feel free to share any or all of these ideas; use them for yourself to buy for your five year old or a five year old who’s special to you!!

Don’t be afraid to add to the list in the comments!

Also, I’ve mentioned that I have a younger daughter as well, she’s two and here’s the gift guide I created for two year olds.
