Classic Disney Princesses
Arial- The Little Mermaid
What little girl doesn’t dream of being a mermaid once in awhile? A Disney Mermaid Princess, even better? Whether you buy or make a little mermaid costume probably won’t even matter to your little girl.
So, if you’d rather make a littler mermaid costume, check out how to make it yourself here.
Cinderella
From chores to a royal ball; this princess has captured the hearts of many since 1950 when Disney released it. So, you can say it’s been around for awhile.
You can buy it, or….make it yourself! If your daughter is old enough, you could have her help and tell her how Cinderella had to make her own dress for the ball. Find the tutorial here.
Snow White
Princess Belle
I still remember dressing up as Belle when I was 4 years old. I don’t remember the dress being this elegant, though. There are quite a few different styles of dresses for Belle, so choose which one fits your daughter best, or make it yourself. Find the tutorial to make it yourself here.
Don’t forget to grab her friends!
Princess Aurora- Sleeping Beauty
This is my 5 year olds favorite Disney Princess, it may have something to do with all of the pink in her dress! We bought her a Sleeping Beauty costume for Halloween 2 years ago and she loved it. But, if you want to make a dress for your sleeping beauty yourself, go try out this no sew dress tutorial! Even if you’re not very crafty, like me, you should still be able to make this dress yourself.
Jasmine

Or, simply buy the costume.
Don’t forget to grab Pochantas’ best animal friend, Meeko!
Mulan
Mulan may be beautiful, but she’s also a strong leader who may be stubborn at times…maybe I should suggest this costume for my oldest daughter this year.
Find out how to simply recreate a Mulan costume yourself here. Or, simply buy one.
Don’t forget about Mushu!
Tinkerbell
She may not be a princess, but she is an important Disney Character responsible for helping children imagine they can fly! I may be a bit biased though, my oldest was Tinkerbell for Halloween when she was 2, and my youngest wore the costume last year!
If you’re crafty, try out this tutorial!
If not, check out the options below.
Don’t forget her friends.
Rapunzel
A classic princess with a newer look, due to the Disney movie Tangled!

The Forgotten (or not as popular) Princesses and other Disney Characters
Anastasia
A Princess that not so many little girls are introduced to today, she’s not as popular as Cinderella or Snow White. But, I still remember getting an Anastasia book when I was little and had the chicken pox, so the memory of her has stuck with me.
You can buy an Anastasia dress on Ebay, here’s one that’s not $100 (less than $30 right now). I’ve looked on Amazon and other places online, they just aren’t that popular. At least you’ll know your daughter won’t have the same costume as someone else if she dresses up as this princess.
Grab her friend, too.
Esmeralda – Hunchback of Notre dame
Currently unavailable on Amazon, but find it on Etsy here or DIY
Or, there’s a sewing pattern on Ebay for Esmeralda, here. Unfortunately, there aren’t very many options for this Disney character; but if your daughter has a purple skirt, white shirt, a pink headband, and a green scarf to tie around their stomach, then it shouldn’t be hard to make this outfit yourself.
Let me know if you make a DIY tutorial for an Esmeralda costume, I’ll feature you here!
Alice (in Wonderland)
If you like making costumes, then here’s a tutorial (that you can use even if it’s last minute)!
Or, check out the costumes below.
Don’t forget her friends.
Megara- from Hercules
Megara is not a very popular Halloween costume, at least not for little girls. I have looked; I’ve looked on Amazon, google, pinterest, no diy or costumes for sale. There’s pictures, but from google they point to pinterest, and from pinterest they point to google.
So, unless you find it in stores, it may be best to make your own with a purple dress, a darker purple sash, and some gold things to tie the sleeves in the front.
Let me know if you find any Megara costumes for kids, or make a DIY tutorial, I’ll feature you here!
Jane – from Tarzan
I have not been able to find a costume for Jane on Amazon, but there are some on Etsy, check out this adorable Jane costume!
Princess ‘Kida’ Kidagakash
Unfortunately, I have not been able to find a kid version of Princess Kida from Atlantis’ outfit. Let me know if you find any Kida costumes for kids, or make a DIY tutorial, I’ll feature you here!
Amazon does have her necklace for sale here, though!
Wendy Darling- from Peter Pan
The mother of the lost boys, not a princess, but an important Disney character!
Check out a tutorial here, however it does require a certain sewing pattern.
Or, just buy one on amazon.
Don’t forget about her friends.
Princess Giselle
Another not so popular princess. You can click on the picture above to get that costume, other than that, let me know if you find any more or a DIY and I’ll include here for everyone to refer to.
Princess Fiona- from Shrek
Another not so popular princess. You can click on the picture above to get that costume, other than that, let me know if you find any more or a DIY and I’ll include here for everyone to refer to. Or, check out the ones below.
