Halloween is usually a time when kids shove their faces with candy and so much sugar that they may go crazy and then have a sugar crash. At least, that’s how I remember it! But, with this new generation, the one we are raising; I’m hoping we don’t give into this craze. I’m opting for healthy Halloween treats for my girls!

Collage with 8 vegan halloween treats around the words "Vegan Halloween Treats".

Healthy homemade Halloween treats can still be fun for kids, even if they don’t contain 25 grams of sugar in every bite.

Take a look at all of these fun and healthy Halloween treats. Towards the end there are vegan copycats of ‘regular’ candy bars, and even a special recipe for us moms who love coffee! (That would be me, and probably you, too.)

Vegan Halloween FAQ’s

Where can you buy vegan candy corn?

Unfortunately Candy Corn is not vegan. Even if you’re able to find some without dairy or egg-whites, chances are it’ll still have gelatin in it, and gelatin is most definitely NOT vegan. That’s why I created the candy corn popsicles (seen above) for my kids for Halloween, so they can still have the fun of candy corn, without gelatin, even if it’s not the same, it’s something!
But, you can find other Halloween Candy that’s store bought! Take a look here for all your store bought vegan candy needs!

What should I not include on my Halloween snack tray?

This depends on your own preference. For smaller kids, don’t include any food that’s a choking hazard, like nuts or seeds. If this is your first Halloween snack tray that you’re making vegan, be sure to check the snacks and don’t include any with: gelatin, dairy, eggs, or any derivative of those, also no meat, seafood, etc.
It’s best to stick to fresh fruits, veggies, and other fun treats that you can find above!

What is the best food to eat on Halloween?

The best food to eat on Halloween is something that is filling, quick and easy to make, and kid-friendly. So, pretty much anything above!

What kind of food do you have at a kids Halloween party?

You’ll want to have fresh fruits and veggies – if you can turn them into a special treat, like the many examples above, then awesome! Also, anything in the shape of Halloween icons or Halloween themed treats. Homemade, healthier, candy would also be great!

What do vegans do for Halloween?

Honestly, we do the same thing as everyone else! We still go trick-or-treating and hold Halloween parties – the only difference is what we eat…and there are plenty of options for fun Halloween treats to give our kids in exchange for the processed stuff they may gather during trick-or-treating. And there are always people in our lives who would love the free candy we pick up for them that night.

Be sure to also check out these other Vegan Halloween Treats!

Apple monsters, clementine pumpkins, and banana ghosts, all arranged together on a cutting board for a kids Halloween party.
