This Apple French toast casserole is the perfect comfort food for cold mornings! It’s warm, soft, and delicious bite after bite, you’ll have a hard time not going back for seconds! Your whole family will come to love the days you make this easy recipe, just as mine has.
Grease your dish and add the bread cubes into the dish evenly. (It will look like it’s almost overflowing, but will decrease in size when baked.)
Melt the butter and add to the milk.
Mix the brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla in with the milk and butter, then whisk together.
Pour the mixture evenly over the cubed bread in the dish.
Mix together the cinnamon, brown sugar, and diced apple for the topping and sprinkle on top.
Bake for 30 minutes.
Allow the casserole to cool, then serve with maple syrup.
Notes
You can cut this into 4, 6, or 9 slices, depending on how large you want the pieces. The top should feel a bit hard/crusty when done in the oven, however underneath will be soft and delicious! DO NOT rip your bread, it is best to cut your bread with a bread knife. Ripping it will reduce the volume of the bread and make it dense.Nutrition calculations are an estimate - if you need accurate calculations please do them yourself using the exact ingredients you used for the recipe.
