In this article, you’ll learn how to make a healthy watermelon slushie, but first…
How do you make a slushie?
Making a slushie is really pretty simple. You need ice and something to flavor it with.
You also need something to blend it in, and then to get it to the right consistency.
If you don’t have a recipe, it’s still not that difficult to find the right consistency; add an ice cube, or handful of ice cubes at a time til it’s at the point where you can still drink it with a straw, but cold and thick enough where you have to take breaks from drinking it to make sure you don’t get brain freeze!
What can I do with watermelon?
EAT IT!
But, seriously, there are a lot of ways you can use and eat watermelon. For example, you could make:
- a cake made out of fruit with watermelon as the center/base
- smoothies
- fruit salad
- a fruit baby carriage for a baby shower (I did this when I was pregnant with my first!)
- a snack
- ice cream
- sherbet/sorbet
- popsicles
- and more!
But, yes, basically, you eat it, and enjoy it!
Now, Let’s Make That Slushie!
Warning, this is a super simple recipe and does not need much instruction.
First, grab your ingredients; AKA cut up watermelon, ice cubes, and lemon juice.
Grab your blender.
Add your ingredients to the blender.
Turn the blender on and allow to blend until all the ice cubes are fully broken down.
If it’s not thick enough, add more ice cubes.
Enjoy!
