Chocolate Peanut Butter Bites (AKA- Homemade Reese's)

One of my favorite candies growing up was Reese’s!

There’s just something about the combination of chocolate and peanut butter that is simply delicious.

Unfortunately, candy bars bought from stores, and even certain homemade ones, aren’t healthy!

Not even in the slightest…

They’re full of saturated fats, hydrogenated oils (aka-trans fats), and more.

Plus, most store bought candy bars aren’t vegan, unless you specifically look for vegan ones.

Therefore, I had to come up with a way to still enjoy my Reese’s, without all of the bad stuff they put into them…

Keep reading to find a delicious homemade Reese’s recipe, that will curb your chocolate and peanut butter cup craving!

How to Make This Chocolate Peanut Butter Bites (AKA- Homemade Reese’s) Recipe

First thing you’ll need to do before you start making these is to get out;

  • 2 bowls
  • 2 spoons
  • a tablespoon (measuring spoon)
  • the half a cup (measuring cup)
  • something to freeze the bites in (this is what I use)
  • coconut oil
  • cocoa powder
  • maple syrup
  • peanut butter

Then melt the coconut oil if it’s not already melted.

Measure out the coconut oil for the chocolate mixture and pour it in one bowl, then do the same for the other bowl.

Next, measure out the maple syrup for each mixture and add it to the coconut oil in each bowl.

Then measure out the cocoa powder and add it to one of the bowls, mix well, until there is no powder showing; it’s all chocolate.

Then do the peanut butter.

Mixing the peanut butter mixture may take a bit more effort, just keep stirring and it’ll eventually be smooth again and mixed well.

After that, grab your ice cube tray(s), or whatever you’re using for these Reese’s, and divide the peanut butter mixture into each section.

Then spoon the chocolate mixture on top of the peanut butter mixture in each section until there’s no more chocolate left.

Place in the freezer and let set, or solidify. This will take at least a few hours, if not overnight.

Once ready, enjoy!!

Recipe Notes

*Be sure to be patient and let these solidify all the way, preferably overnight; otherwise you’ll be disappointed in them, and it may make a mess.

**These NEED to be stored in the freezer! Depending on your freezer settings, you may not need to wait to let them thaw out much before eating, just keep them in there so they don’t start to melt.
