There are few recipes that I remember my mom making when I was younger, but I still remember the orange creamsicle smoothies she would make on the rare occasion. Though hers certainly was not vegan friendly. Unfortunately, I didn’t transition to a vegan diet till after I moved out of her house and started a family of my own.

But, still, I enjoyed that smoothie back then, so much so I knew I needed to create a version that I love even more. That was also cruelty free, healthy, and vegan! (I know, it’s a bit repetitive…)

How to Make This Mouth Watering Vegan Orange Creamsicle Smoothie Recipe

Start by getting out your blender and the ingredients.

Orange Creamsicle smoothie ingredients on the counter.

This includes:

  • Full Fat Coconut Milk
  • Frozen Clementines Wedges
  • Vanilla Extract

If you haven’t peeled apart your clementines and have froze them yet, do that now. Using frozen clementines is vital to making this smoothie thick!

You can even have your kids peel apart the clementines before freezing, to give them something to do to help. Unfortunately, you both will have to be patient and wait for them to freeze before blending.

Once the Clementines are Frozen…

Go grab your blender, the frozen clementines, full fat coconut milk, and vanilla extract.

*The coconut milk you need to use for this is the kind you would usually find in a can, or at least shelf stable. The kind you find in the refrigerated section may not work at well. I haven’t tried it, but usually the refrigerated milks are thinner and we want this to be nice and thick and creamy!

Also note that you don’t need ‘real’ vanilla extract. If you’re used to buying the imitation vanilla extract, because it’s so much cheaper than the other stuff; it’ll still work.

Blend

Fill up your blender with all of the ingredients, in the order that your blender calls for.
