Easy Strawberry Lemonade

This easy Strawberry Lemonade is a kid favorite and mom approved (ok, well, if you don’t mind sugar in your kids drinks, no denying this drink has some sugar in it, but other than that, it does use real fruit to make it)!

It’s nice and refreshing and great for cooling off when spending these warmer months outdoors.

Ingredients for Strawberry Lemonade

*The full recipe is available to print down below on the ‘recipe card’, including ingredient quantities and all steps!

Water: Make sure you use clean drinking water for this recipe. Use more or less depending on the color and intensity of the lemonade you want.

Sugar: Make sure you’re using vegan sugar, as not all white sugar is vegan. This has only been tested with white sugar. Using another type of sugar may change the flavor and possibly the texture of the drink.

Strawberries: Use fresh strawberries (or another berry is desired), wash and remove stems before using.

Lemon Juice: Use freshly squeezed lemon juice, or cheat like I usually do by using lemon juice from the bottle. (Store bought lemon juice is much cheaper and lasts longer, so unless you have a lemon tree in your backyard, you may want to save some money and time by using premade lemon juice.)

Ice: This is mostly for preference, but for some reason ice just makes lemonade taste better!

How to Make Strawberry Lemonade

*Note that these instructions can be printed below

Step one: Cut the stems off the strawberries and wash them, then add to your blender or food processor and process, or blend, until pureed.

Step two: Pour the strawberry puree over a fine mesh strainer over your pitcher and run all of the puree through the strainer until all that is left is pulp from the strawberries. Press the pulp down with a spoon to make sure as much as possible has gone into the pitcher, to lessen the amount of  seeds that get into the lemonade skip pressing the pulp.

Step three: Then dissolve the sugar over low heat on the stove in a small saucepan with 3 cups of  water to make a simple syrup, add to the pitcher.

Step four: Using a citrus juicer, juice the lemons to make fresh lemon juice, and add to the pitcher.

Step five: Add more water if desired, stir well, and let chill in the refrigerator until cold.

Step six: Add ice and serve!

Storing Homemade Lemonade

Fridge:  Store in glass jars, like 32 ounce mason jars, or in your pitcher or drink dispenser, in the fridge for up to 4-5 days. I have not tested freezing these, but if I were to, it would be in popsicle molds.

Make it Kid Friendly!

Use berries you know your child likes for this lemonade. Add, or don’t add, toppings to the lemonade, such as fresh lemon slices, sliced or whole strawberries, or mint leaves. To reduce the amount of sugar, do what I do and use the higher amount of water in the recipe and add ice to the pitcher/dispenser, and then add more ice each time you pour your child a cup. Each child is different, luckily most recipes, like this one, leaves wiggle room for you to customize it to their liking!
