How to Make This Vegan Turmeric Latte Recipe!

The easiest way to get this latte in every morning is by making it as easy as possible on ourselves to do so. Which means making a larger batch of the turmeric latte mixture and keeping it in a container, I use an old glass jar that jam came in.

A small mason jar will also work.

I wouldn’t recommend using a huge jar, especially before you get accustomed to enjoying it every morning, as these are spices you’ll be combining. Spices come in small enough containers, as is.

The recipe for one cup is;

  • 1 cup non-dairy milk
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ginger
  • pinch of black pepper
  • 1-2 tsp brown sugar (alternatively, you could use maple syrup)

Making a Batch of Vegan Turmeric Latte Mix

To make your own turmeric latte mix you’ll want to add all the dry ingredients together, but multiply them before doing so.

For example, if you want to make enough for one week, you’ll combine;

  • 3 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1 3/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 3/4 tsp ginger
  • 7 pinches of black pepper (I just shake it into the container 7 times)
  • 7-14 tsp brown sugar (~2 to 5 tablespoons)

Then, stir or shake (with lid on).

Add about one tablespoon of the mixture per 1 cup non-dairy milk.

You can add the mixture in before or after heating it up, up to you.

Warm the Non-dairy Milk

The type of you milk you use doesn’t matter that much, however it should definitely be non-dairy milk.

Using dairy milk, which is inflammatory, won’t make much sense with this recipe, as the turmeric helps with inflammation, so it’d kind of cancel each other out.

I usually use almond milk with this recipe, but sometimes I use soy milk. Store bought soy milk is generally fortified with B12, other vitamins, and has more fat that almond milk, which is one reason I would choose soy over almond occasionally.

Or, when my kids ask for this drink, I make sure it’s with soy milk for the extra, healthy, fat.

To heat the non-dairy milk, you can use the microwave or the stove.

In the microwave: microwave on high for 1-2 minutes, stir til spices and sweetener is incorporated well.

On the stove: heat all ingredients on stove til warm, stir occasionally.

  • 1 cup soy milk (or any non-dairy milk)
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ginger powder
  • a pinch of black pepper
  • 1-2 tsp brown sugar (or maple syrup)


  • Measure and pour all ingredients into a microwave safe mug
  • Microwave on high for 1-2 minutes
  • Stir, let cool slightly, enjoy!!


*Alternatively, you can make this in a pot on the stove!
