12 Deliciously Healthy Kid Friendly Breakfast Recipes for Easy School Mornings

The school year is coming, and that means rushed mornings with cranky kids who don’t want to eat breakfast first thing in the morning.

Or, at least that’s how my oldest daughter was when she went to preschool; this year she starts kindergarten, and I hope to not have that same issue.

Have you had this issue with your kids?

Ever get up early to make a healthy breakfast for your kids and then they tell you they’re not hungry?

It’s not a good feeling; like ‘I just spent all this time making all this food, and no one wants it?’

It’s almost enough to make you want to stop making breakfast in the morning…..don’t stop, though. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day; your children need nutrients to get their brains to turn on before school.

And, it’s not just a pretty picture; this desert-like breakfast is my 5 year olds new favorite breakfast! She said the nice cream in the picture reminds her of a unicorn; the one I make her isn’t quite as pretty, but it’s still colorful and nutritious. So, it’s still a win-win!

This waffle recipe is the one I personally use as a go-to breakfast! It’s quick and easy to make, delicious, and my two little girls love it. Though, the ones I make out turn out a bit differently; we have a spider man waffle iron. And, I can say that these waffles freeze very well for an even quicker breakfast. So, go ahead, double the ingredients for these healthy waffles and freeze any leftovers. Then, all you’ll have to do in the morning is pop them in the toaster and add the sauce!

If your mornings are too busy to make anything, but you still want your kids to have a healthy nutritious breakfast; these oatmeal cups are a must! They’re vegan, which makes it a bonus in my books. Simply add these to your weekly meal prep (or anytime during the weekend), freeze them, and you won’t have to worry about breakfast all week! (To make freezing these easier, make sure you make them in silicone baking cups; I don’t know what I’d do without mine.)

This healthy parfait is super simple to make and can be whipped up in about ten minutes! Help your children feel like they’re eating a dessert for breakfast with this parfait; you won’t have to convince them to wake up to eat breakfast anymore. From personal experience, experiment with making whipped coconut cream prior to the morning of making this; my first try was a disaster, the second time was the charm. (Along with every try after.)
